Abdalmonem Galila is the Deputy Manager of .masr (.مصر) IDN ccTLD of Egypt. He is also a member of the Task Force on Arabic Script Internationalised Domain Names (TF-AIDN) that focuses on the secure deployment and ease of use of Arabic IDNs. For TF-AIDN, he is contributing to the root zone and second level Label Generation Rulesets
(LGRs) and the universal acceptance of the Arabic script domain names.
Since 2010, he is actively involved with ICANN and has followed the IANA stewardship transition. Through this fellowship programme, he intends to engage with the ccNSO – a platform which facilitates the development of best practices for ccTLD managers.
Galila is a member of the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG), and in March 2018, he was elected as an UA ambassador, supporting the equal treatment of all domain names.
He is also a member of the EMOJIs study group that targets the use of EMOJIs in the second level domain names and how this affects their security. After ICANN63 in October 2018, he joined AFRALO and the RSSAC Caucus.
