BGP Operations and Security Training Course

This is a two-day training course. Attendees are expected to be present for both days of the training course.
Description
The BGP Operations and Security Training Course is a two-day course that offers an in-depth look into Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). It covers the basics of how BGP works through to advanced topics such as route reflectors, policy, filtering, route selection and the security aspects of the protocol. The course also covers bogon filtering, Internet Routing Registries and the Resource Certification (RPKI) framework. Participants have the opportunity reinforce the theory through practice with our interactive exercises following each topic.

Description
The RIPE Database training course is a one-day course. We’ll make you a capable user of the RIPE Database. Mixing hands-on activities with theory, the course participants will get a comprehensive idea of what the RIPE Database is and what they can do with it. You should attend this training course if you are part of the staff of a Local Internet Registry (LIR) in the RIPE NCC service region and need to register networks in the RIPE Database.

Description
This workshop aims to present the KINDNS initiative to operators running DNS services in the Middle East and how they can use it for:
- Assessing how they run their DNS operations against the best practices identified by the
community - Benefiting from the practices and recommendations of the KINDNS to improve their DNS
operations and security - Joining the initiative and promoting KINDNS in their environment for a more secure Internet
ecosystem in general.
Participants will engage in a demo, and operators who want to run their self-assessment will have a chance to be assisted by the ICANN team to run and get their anonymized assessment report.
Duration: 2 hour and 15 minutes (excluding coffee breaks)
The self-assessment session will depend on the interest shown in the tool by operators attending the workshop. Attendees can benefit from the presence of ICANN staff to go through the process and get their assessment report.

Workshop: Configuring Web-hosting Tools to Support Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) and Email Address Internationalization (EAI)

Description
IDN and EAI for Techs is a half-day course providing hands-on training on how to configure hosting tools to support hosting Arabic domain names and email addresses. Participants will learn how IDNs and EAI work in theory, as well as about the various rule sets that determine what can be done and how. The main focus is on hands-on exercises, leading up to hosting an Arabic website on an Arabic domain and with Arabic email addresses.
ICANN provides cpanel access and a linux virtual server for the exercises.
Target Audience
You should attend this training course if you are technical staff at a registrar, webhost or ISP that wants to provide IDNs or EAI-based products or services to its customers.

MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security) is a project run by the Internet Society with the aim of improving routing security around the World. Organisations can become MANRS Members by implementing four so-called “Actions” related to routing security.
In this workshop we will explain what MANRS is in detail and will delve into how to implement configurations in an organisation’s network to allow it to become a member. We will focus in detail on the steps needed to implement filtering, how to set up your organisation properly in your RIR’s database, and ultimately, we will explain how RPKI works.
A laptop with a browser is required for the exercises, and basic knowledge about routing is a must to participate.
